Intraocular Cancer

Intraocular melanoma initiates in the middle of three layers of the wall of the eye. The external layer includes the white sclera and the clear cornea at the front of the eye. The internal layer has a lining of nerve tissue, called the retina, which senses light and sends images along the optic nerve to the brain.

Retinoblastoma is a occasional sort of eye cancer. It maximum frequently disturbs children under the age of 5. Among 40 and 50 children progress this type of cancer each year in the UK. Though this can be very painful and terrifying for the kid and their parents, more than 9 out of 10 children are treated.

Single or both eyes can be affected. This is called autonomous or two-sided retinoblastoma. Children with both eyes exaggerated are usually identified in the first year of life. Persons with one eye affected be likely to be detected a bit later, frequently between 2 and 3 years.
